What it is

## A complete bathroom, handled end to end

A bathroom installation is far more than swapping a suite. It is removing the old room, altering hot, cold and waste pipework to suit the new layout, dealing with the electrics safely in a wet zone, preparing walls and floors so tiles stay put, waterproofing the areas that need it, tiling, fitting the suite, sealing, and testing everything under real use before it is handed back.

We take the whole job. Plumbing, tiling and all associated work is done by our own team, which is the single biggest difference between a bathroom that finishes on schedule and one that drifts for a month. You have one point of contact, one price and one team responsible for the finish.

That includes the heating side, which most bathroom fitters have to subcontract out. We are Gas Safe registered under 540834 and G3 qualified for unvented hot water cylinders, so towel rails, radiator relocations, and hot water supply upgrades are part of the same job rather than a separate contractor's problem.

Bathrooms are quoted as a fixed price after we have seen the room. Quotes are free and usually turned around within one working day. A deposit may be required on a job of this size, and the amount is always agreed with you in advance. Payment is by card or bank transfer.

### Who this is for

- Tired bathrooms past refreshing

Cracked grout, failing seals, a suite from two owners ago and a layout that never worked properly.

- Bath-to-shower conversions

Swapping a bath for a walk-in shower, usually with drainage, waterproofing and flow rate all needing attention.

- New en suites and cloakrooms

New rooms need new hot, cold and waste runs and often a rethink of hot water capacity across the house.

- Landlords and rental properties

Hard-wearing, low-maintenance fit-outs that stand up to tenants and do not generate call-outs every few months.

- Accessibility changes

Level-access showers, grab rails and layouts that make the room usable for someone with limited mobility.

What happens if it waits

## Where bathroom projects go wrong

Bathrooms are the job people most often regret cheapening. Water gets everywhere it is allowed to, and every shortcut taken behind a tile shows up eighteen months later as a stain on a ceiling.

### Water gets behind the tiles

Tiling straight onto unsuitable board with no waterproofing means moisture reaches the substrate. Tiles lift, grout blackens and the wall behind slowly fails.

### Leaks show up downstairs

A badly made waste or a poorly sealed shower tray leaks into the floor void. By the time the kitchen ceiling stains, the damage is already done.

### Falls and drainage done wrong

Waste runs with insufficient fall block and smell. Shower trays laid without proper support flex, crack seals and leak.

### Multiple trades, no owner

A plumber, a tiler and an electrician booked separately means every delay is somebody else's fault and you end up managing the project.

### Hot water that cannot cope

A new en suite or a big rainfall head on a system that was never sized for it results in weak flow and disappointing showers.

### Costs that creep

Vague quotes with the tiling, waste alterations or making good left out turn into extras once the room is already stripped and you have no leverage.

### Mistakes we get called out to fix

- Buying a suite before anyone has measured the room or checked the waste positions it needs.
- Choosing a large rainfall shower without checking the flow rate the system can actually deliver.
- Using standard plasterboard and no tanking in a shower enclosure to save a small amount on materials.
- Sealing over old silicone rather than stripping it back, so mould returns within months.
- Leaving the tiling to a separate trade booked for a date that shifts the moment the plumbing overruns.
- Boxing in isolation valves and access points so any future repair means smashing tiles.

Our process

## Five stages from empty room to finished bathroom

01

### Survey & inspection

We look at the room, the existing pipework and waste, the floor structure, the hot water capacity and what the layout will realistically allow.

02

### Design & fixed quote

Layout, suite, tiling and everything associated priced as one fixed job with the scope written down. Free, usually back within one working day.

03

### Strip-out & first fix

Old room removed and disposed of, then hot, cold and waste pipework altered, wet-zone electrics dealt with safely, and walls and floors prepared and waterproofed.

04

### Tiling & second fix

Tiling, suite installation, shower, towel rail or radiator, sealing and all the fine detail that decides whether the room looks fitted or finished.

05

### Testing, handover & guarantee

Every outlet, waste and seal tested under real use, the room cleaned, waste taken away, and the work covered by our 1-year workmanship guarantee.

What you get

## What one team on the whole job gets you

### One price, one contract

Plumbing, tiling and associated work quoted as a single fixed price with the scope agreed in advance — not a base price with extras waiting.

### No coordinating trades

You are not chasing a tiler around a plumber's diary. The same team runs the job from strip-out to final seal.

### Waterproofing done properly

Correct board, correct preparation and tanking where it matters, because the failures we get called to fix nearly always start behind the tile.

### Heating and hot water included

Towel rails, radiator moves and hot water capacity handled by Gas Safe registered engineers (540834), G3 qualified for unvented cylinders.

### A room you can live with

Isolation and access left where a future repair does not mean breaking tiles, and materials chosen for the way the room is actually used.

### Cleared up properly

Old suite and rubble taken away, dust controlled, and the house left liveable while the work is going on. Our reviews mention it repeatedly.

In detail

## Materials, methods and the variations we fit

Bathrooms differ enormously in scope. This is the detail behind the work, and the situations that change how a room has to be built.

### Full bathroom refits

A full refit means strip-out to bare walls and floor, then rebuilding: pipework altered to suit the new layout, floor checked and strengthened where a stone-resin tray or a large-format tile demands it, walls prepared, waterproofing applied where water will land, then tiling, suite, sealing and testing.

Most full refits in a typical Peterborough family bathroom run over a working week or more depending on the tiling and the extent of the layout change. We give you a realistic duration at the quote stage rather than an optimistic one that slips.

### Bath-to-shower conversions and walk-ins

Removing a bath and fitting a walk-in shower changes the drainage requirement, the waterproofing requirement and often the floor structure. Low-profile and level-access trays need a properly supported, level base and a waste run with adequate fall — this is where cheap conversions fail.

Flow rate matters as much as the enclosure. A large head on a system that cannot supply it gives you an expensive dribble, so we check what the system delivers before recommending the shower rather than after fitting it.

### En suites, cloakrooms and new rooms

A new room brings new hot, cold and waste runs, often through joists and existing ceilings, and it adds demand to the hot water system. On a combi that can mean two outlets competing; on a cylinder system it can mean the cylinder is now undersized.

Because we handle heating and unvented hot water work in-house under our G3 qualification, that conversation happens once, with one team, and any cylinder or system change is part of the same quote.

### Tiling, waterproofing and substrates

Tile choice drives preparation. Large-format porcelain needs a flat, rigid substrate and a suitable adhesive bed; natural stone needs sealing and appropriate products; mosaics need more grout and more time. Getting the substrate right is the difference between a wall that lasts and one that drums and cracks.

In wet zones we use suitable boards and tanking rather than standard plasterboard, and we detail the corners, junctions and tray perimeter properly. Silicone is a finish, not a waterproofing system — anywhere silicone is doing structural waterproofing work, the room will fail eventually.

### Heating, towel rails and pipework

Towel rails and radiators are usually relocated during a refit, which means altering the heating circuit, balancing the system afterwards so the rest of the house still heats evenly, and dosing inhibitor back into the system after it has been drained.

We use appropriate copper and approved fittings, keep isolation accessible, and lag where it matters. Details like isolation valves on basin and toilet supplies cost very little at fit and save a great deal the first time a tap needs changing.

### Rentals, accessibility and commercial-style use

For rental properties the priorities are durability and low maintenance: hard-wearing surfaces, straightforward suites, accessible isolation, and no fragile detailing that will not survive a tenancy. It costs the same to fit sensible fittings as fragile ones.

For accessibility work — level-access showers, grab rails, layouts that give clearance around fixtures — the structural and drainage requirements are stricter, and they are decided at survey rather than adapted halfway through the build.

### Where we fit bathrooms

We install bathrooms across Peterborough, Yaxley, Hampton, Whittlesey, Huntingdon, Sawtry, Stilton, Stamford, Market Deeping, Ramsey, Oundle and the surrounding Cambridgeshire towns, working out of our base in Peterborough.

Because we are a small, family-run team of four, we take on a controlled number of bathrooms at a time. That is deliberate: it means the job you book is the job we are actually on, rather than one we start and abandon for a bigger one.

Common questions

## Bathroom installation questions

How much does a new bathroom cost in Peterborough?

Bathrooms are quoted individually because the range is so wide — a suite swap and a full refit with layout changes are different jobs. Quotes are free, usually back within one working day, and you get a fixed price with the scope written down before anything starts.

How long does a bathroom installation take?

A typical full refit runs over a working week or more, depending on the tiling, the layout changes and the drying times involved. We give you a realistic duration at the quote stage and tell you if anything changes.

Do you do the tiling as well, or just the plumbing?

We do the whole bathroom — plumbing, tiling and every associated trade — with our own team. You are not left coordinating separate contractors.

Can I supply my own suite and tiles?

Yes, plenty of customers do. Talk to us before you buy so we can check the sizes, waste positions and flow requirements suit the room and the system.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes. All of our workmanship carries a 1-year guarantee, and the products we install carry their own manufacturer warranties.

Will I be without a bathroom the whole time?

During a full refit the room itself is out of use while it is being built. We plan the sequence to keep disruption to a minimum and tell you honestly which days the room is unusable.

Can you fit a towel rail or move a radiator?

Yes. Heating work is in-house — we are Gas Safe registered under 540834 and G3 qualified for unvented hot water cylinders, so heating and hot water changes are part of the same job.

Do you take a deposit?

A deposit may be required on larger jobs such as bathrooms. The amount depends on the job and is always agreed with you in advance. We accept card and bank transfer.

Do you fit bathrooms in rental properties?

Yes, regularly. For rentals we steer towards durable, low-maintenance specifications and accessible isolation so future repairs are quick and cheap.
